  • The description for this book is rather vague and I think, in many ways, that is what made this book a pleasant surprise for me when I picked it. The plot revolves a plan to steal gold from a dragon and it is oddly that simple. The description may have you thinking that there is some possible mystery and you are going in for a dense volume like Lord of the Rings, but Fools Good is actually more quirky fantasy adventure in the likes of Discworld in humor and almost satire in writing.

What shines in this book is the oddball characters (including heroes and the dragons themselves) and the simple plot is flushed out mostly by the consequences of having such strong personalities together.

Though there are some small bits of world building, it is important to note that Fools Gold is more like candy then a full meal when it comes to rpg epic (which is not bad by no means).

The plot is simple and the lore is not super deep, but it is a great first novel. Book The Dragon Lords: Fools Gold I would be interested to see how the characters and world expands in later volumes.
